Tim Burton did it again and created a whole new world and here we see the stunning result: Alice in Wonderland. The film is definitely a fantasy, adventure with some dark elements we would expect from Burton movie. Above all, it has some right to the point funny lines and manners which adds to the pleasure. The film begins with the uncomfortable Wonderland dreams of little Alice and from that point, we understand that she has forgotten about her journey. After this, we see the grown up, 19 year old Alice (Mia Wasikowska) who is kind of a rebel and does not like the “engagement party” and the man she is expected to be married. Eventually she “follows the White Rabbit” (Michael Sheen) and flees the scene, finds herself back in Wonderland: if only she knew she had a destiny to support the White Queen (Anne Hathaway) and put an end to the Red Queen’s reign of cruelty. Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) is quite the character and is even nice to Alice at first, but when she finds out that Alice is the girl who she is supposed to be fighting, things change. Alice’s companion in Wonderland is Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) and it is delightful to see his antics. Stephen Fry’s voice acting as the Cheshire Cat is unforgettable and Alan Rickman as the Blue Caterpillar could even have his own sequel. The inspirationally evil Jabberwocky could not be better if it were not for Christopher Lee. Tweedledee – Tweedledum characters are both played by Matt Lucas and Crispin Glover should not be forgotten as he plays a key role as Knave of Hearts in the war against (What?! Against?!) the Red Queen. The film is a feast to the eyes, it must be seen and enjoyed as much as possible.
